Stereo 8 and Hitler.

A few days ago John and I brought over a late birthday present for Pezent Shayne at Csquat..His birthday was April 20th, just like Hitler! Anyway, the gift was a butt load of 8-track tapes we bought off of ebay for him. Shayne dumpster dove this insanely, hideously tacky 8-track thingy last year..It's like a fake fireplace. with cabinets that open to reveal an 8-track player on one side and some kind of weird bar/drug den on the other side..with cupholders and mirrors. And the thing is HUGE and red velvety too..It would fit right in on one of those party buses if it was the 1970's.

Shayne received some great stuff..The Beatles White Album, the Muppet Movie Soundtrack, more Steely Dan, some K.C. and the Sunshine Band..and bestest of all-Travolta Fever! With songs like "Rainbows," "Razzamatazz," and "All Strung Out On You", how can you possibly go wrong? So we had a small 8-track dance party over there..well, now that I think about it, I was really the only person dancing and everyone else looked sort of annoyed..What can I say? I got the music in me!
So here are some pics..Shayne holding up his brand new Stevie Wonder 8-track proudly, Jes looking stunned from this stupendous gift of music, and their dog Columbo trying to sleep in the 8-track fireplace. I am trying to think of a correlation between Hitler and 8-tracks but I really can't so i'll just give up..
